LOCKER UPDATE

The good news! We have brand new lockers in the building. The bad news . . . we are having difficulty with the software needed to assign lockers and combinations to each student.  Rest assured that this is a priority, and we are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible.  In the meantime, please have your student bring only essential supplies each day. We will notify you as soon as lockers become available.

PTO ICE CREAM SOCIAL CANCELLED - NEW EVENT SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER

The PTO Ice Cream Social scheduled for Friday, September 15, has been cancelled. PTO will be holding a Welcome Back Fall Harvest for all grades on October 27. Details will be announced soon. Please open this PTO Newsletter for other important information.

BHMS PICTURE DAY IS SEPTEMBER 19

Picture Day at BHMS is on Tuesday, September 19. Students will be called down throughout the day, so it is not possible to give an exact schedule of when each grade will have pictures taken. SO, students in all grades should arrive at school ready for pictures. You may pay in one of two ways.

  1. Pre-pay and order directly online through Lifetouch (mylifetouch.com). You must enter Picture Day ID number LM727122Y0 (the last number is a zero) to get to the Bloomfield Hills Middle School page.

  2. ON PICTURE DAY, have your child bring in the completed hard copy order form that will be sent home to students next week, along with the payment for your order. Payment must be the exact amount. Change is not available. Make checks payable to Lifetouch.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION REDEMPTION DATE COMING SOON

Throughout the years families have supported BHMS by turning in Box Tops for Education, which can be found on numerous food and other products.  Each Box Top is worth ten cents to BHMS -- but worth nothing if you toss them in your waste basket. The math is simply amazing. If each of our 750 students brought in 10 box tops each month, for the nine months of the school year, BHMS would earn $6,750 to use toward programs or purchases not covered under the budget.

The first of two Box Tops redemption periods is coming up soon, so please send in any Box Tops that you've already saved up. There is a collection box in the Main Office. Thanks for supporting BHMS in small ways that can have big results. For more information about products that contain Box Tops, click HERE.

DOGS NOT ALLOWED ON GROUNDS DURING SCHOOL DAY OR SCHOOL SPORTS OR OTHER EVENTS
As a reminder, for the safety of our students, staff, and visitors, dogs are not allowed on school grounds between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. when school is in session OR at any time that school events - including sports practices and games - are taking place.

MYP COORDINATOR'S CORNER by Kathy Janelle

Please read this week's MYP Newsletter from BHMS MYP Coordinator / Teacher Leader, Kathy Janelle. It overviews this month's MYP Learner Profile Trait of Caring.

SHOP AT KROGER AND SUPPORT BHMS

You can support BHMS when you do your regular shopping at Kroger by designating Bloomfield Hills Middle School as your Plus Card Community Rewards program recipient. The Kroger website provides instructions for setting up a new account, or for designating Bloomfield Hills Middle School (Organization Code 28755) to your existing account.

Once you've designated BHMS as your organization, each time you shop at Kroger and use your Plus Card, BHMS earns reward points, which translate into checks paid to BHMS quarterly. That's all there is to it!

PLEASE DO NOT BRING ITEMS CONTAINING NUTS OR NUT PRODUCTS INTO ANY AREA OF THE BUILDING

Please remember that BHMS IS AN ENTIRELY NUT-RESTRICTED BUILDING, 24-HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. There are students in the building who are highly allergic to peanuts and all kinds of tree nuts, and their well-being is of concern.

Students should not bring lunch or snacks containing nuts or nut products. Additionally, while your donations and gifts are very much appreciated, we ask that you make sure anything given to the office, to teachers or classrooms, for bake sales, end-of-sports or club parties or any other occasion are free of all nuts and nut products. Thank you so much for your consideration.
