Friends of the Nature Center

The Friends of the Nature Center is an independent non-profit organization formed in 2006 to help maintain and improve the Nature Center and to ensure that it continues to offer area residents an opportunity to enjoy nature. Membership in the Friends is open to everyone.

  • 5th Annual Patriot Week Festival

    On Sunday September 14 from 1:00-5:00 pm the Patriot Week Organization will be hosting their 5th Annual Patriot Week Festival at the Bowers School Farm.

    The Patriot Week Festival is very family friendly with free pony rides, wagon rides, and patriotic music, among other attractions. Schools demonstrations and dignitaries will be on hand to address the audience, to make this a fun filled and educational event. September 14 is also the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner, and a special tribute to the national anthem, as well as to 9/11, will be part of the program.

    There is no admission fee, and food and drink will be available for purchase.
