Conant Elementary School

As an IB Primary Years Programme school, Conant Elementary “focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.” Our students participate in project-based learning that reflects the PYP philosophy of an integrated curriculum and incorporates 21st Century skills, global-mindedness, and the Common Core State Standards. We utilize inquiry-based instructional practices that build on children’s natural curiosity and encourage students to use critical thinking skills, reflect on their learning and compassionately develop solutions for real-world problems.

Conant School Mission

To foster inquiry and innovation while preparing active citizens to participate in a global community.

  • Disability Awareness

    Posted October 24, 2014

We are looking for adult volunteers to help with Conant's annual Disability Awareness Day, November 11 from 8:45 AM-noon. Disability Awareness Day is a program designed to give forth grade students insight and empathy while exposing them to a variety of different challenges. Volunteers will work at stations, check the building for ADA compliance, and assist the students with physical obstacles. This is a volunteer experience you will never forget, and a day that will not happen without lots of parental (grandparents, friends, etc. are welcome and appreciated too) assistance. Parents of all grade students are encouraged to volunteer! If interested, please contact Lisa Efros at Efros@aol.com.

As Justin Verlander wraps up spring training and prepares to pitch this season, three Conant Elementary students have some advice for him. “Always stretch out because if you don’t stretch, you could pull something. But don’t just stretch before. You have to make sure to do cool-down stretches, too. People forget to do that,” says Robert.
