Question: In view of the conclusion reached in “Constant Critics” posted on the BHSD web site, “ … that on one occasion a mistake was made to share a quote with another professional service provider,” what is the District going to do to correct the mistake? Will you re-bid this multi-year ($250,000 annual) contract using a full, sealed bid process
Answer: The district will not re-consider the 2008 sinking fund architectural appointment; there is not time, nor an indication that fees would be lower. There is currently no multi-year contract with any architectural firm, although FFLA is considering the possibility. A letter has been sent to the low quoter, offerring to reimbursement for time and money spent in developing the quote, despite the firm's assertion (by telephone) that minimal time was invested. However, obtaining comparative quotes under the proper circumstances will remain part of our ongoing practice.
