ImageBill Boyle has been appointed principal of Model High School and Bowers Academy by the Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education. At Model, he succeeds Cindy Boughner, who is retiring.

Bill has been principal at Bowers Academy since 2005. He has also been a principal at Way Elementary, assistant principal at Bloomfield Hills Middle School, and teacher and English department chair at Model. He began his teaching career in Bloomfield Hills as a teacher at East Hills Middle School where he helped found the Connections Program.

He has a bachelor’s degree in English from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in reading from Oakland University.

“Bill’s passion for education and, in particular, for alternative education for students at both ends of the spectrum make him ideal for this position,” said Dr. Steven Gaynor, superintendent. “This move will utilize Bill’s leadership skills to best meet the needs of our students at both schools.”
