Lahser and Andover girls will Volley for a Cure |
|
Every 13 seconds a woman in the U.S. dies from breast cancer. One in eight women will develop the disease in her lifetime.
To raise awareness of the risks and symptoms and fund treatment, varsity volleyball players from Andover and Lahser high schools will take to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 7 in the first Volley for a Cure match.
A 50/50 raffle and other great prizes will be awarded before, during and after the match.
Admission to the event, which will raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, is the purchase of a pink Volley for a Cure t-shirt or a generous donation. The t-shirts are $8 for students in advance, $10 for adults, and $10 at the door.
The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Lahser gymnasium, located at 3456 Lahser Road in Bloomfield Township. Pre-event matches with the freshmen and junior varsity teams will begin at 4:30 p.m.
To purchase a t-shirt or for more information contact any Andover or Lahser volleyball player, or Caroline Roberts at
