Pine Lake mourns loss of teacher today |
|
Dear BHS Parents and Staff:
I’m saddened to bring you tragic news today from our Pine Lake community.
Robert Schrupp, a second grade teacher there for the past 22 years, was killed instantly in an auto accident this morning on his way to work when his car was broadsided at M-59 and Airport Road. Mr. Schrupp is known and admired by many students, parents and staff members in our District and was currently mentoring an Oakland University student teacher. Tony Kruzman, Pine Lake principal, characterized him was one of the gentlest men he has ever known.
Grief counselors will be on hand at Pine Lake, West Hills Middle School and Andover High School for anyone who needs support.
Mr. Schrupp is survived by his wife, Linda, and four children. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced via the Pine Lake Web site and listserv.
The entire BHS community sends its condolences to his family on their unimaginable loss.
Sincerely,
Dr. Steven A. Gaynor
