Corn Maze

Are you ready for a ten-acre challenge?

Our Corn Maze includes three levels of difficulty. Start at the beginner's maze and then graduate to the intermediate and advanced mazes (your ticket price allows you access to all three levels!). Challenge those in your group to see who can find the checkpoints first! You can participate in a fun, interactive game within the maze - it's extra challenging if you try the game while it's dark!

The Corn Maze tickets also include a fun wagon ride around the property, seeing the farm animals, such as our goat, sheep, llama, rabbits and horses. For a small charge, you can pick your holiday pumpkin! (during daylight hours & weather permitting) The younger kids can enter our "kid's zone" where they can go through a straw maze and engage in other exciting kid's activities.

After you've mastered your way through the corn maze, celebrate your journey with fresh donuts, apple cider or S'mores around the farm's bonfire.

Make the Bowers Farm Corn Maze your family's fall annual event!

We accept cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover).

What is a corn maze?

It's a 10-acre corn field with a special design cut into it that leads the participant through various paths that may lead to the exit, but then again, may not, and you'll have to try another route. We have a Corn Maze (Non-Haunted) divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

Where do I park?

You'll see all sorts of signs leading you to the free parking area. Parking is on the farm property and there will be volunteers available to assist you. Parking is free.

How long is each maze?

  • The beginner level of the Corn Maze is approx. 0.2 miles and takes roughly 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
  • The intermediate level of the Corn Maze is approx. 1.1 miles and takes roughly 30 minutes to complete.
  • The advanced maze level of the Corn Maze is approx. 2.2 miles and takes roughly 45 minutes to complete.

Do I have to go through all the mazes?

No, you and your group decide what you're up for. Each maze has its own entrance and exit. Younger children may want to start in the beginner maze to get a feel for it and to play the fun, interactive game, then may want to try the intermediate or advanced. Teenagers and adults generally go right for the intermediate and advanced maze where there is a challenge game to test your navigation skills.

Will I get lost in the maze?

Go ahead, try to get lost! You may get a little turned around at times, but that's part of the a-mazing fun. Our "Corn Cops" will be stationed at various locations throughout the mazes to help point the "cornfused" in the right direction.

What if we can’t attend on any of the designated weekends - Can we attend during the week?

We will be happy to provide a two hour program, which includes ½ hour of the corn maze, ½ hour cider and donuts, ½ hour of barn tours, ½ hour of a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin to take home. There is a minimum of 5 people for this tour and the cost is $10 per person. We run the tour Mondays through Fridays either in the morning, afternoon or evening (no Friday evenings available). Get your group of friends, school, church organization, scouting groups, parent groups, family, etc and please call 248.341.6475 to book your weekday tour!

How much does a wagon ride cost if I don’t purchase a maze ticket?

$2 per person. Children under 1 are free. Remember the wagon ride is free with the purchase of a maze ticket.

Where does the wagon ride take you and how long is it?

You'll see signs for the pickup area and the wagon will take you around the property, stopping at the pumpkin patch for those that would like to buy a pumpkin (please be sure to bring cash or check to pay our staff person stationed in the pumpkin patch - pumpkins range from $3 - $12). Then the wagon will bring you back to the same pick-up area. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes total. Wagon rides are free with your corn maze ticket. $2 for wagon ride without the purchase of a maze ticket.

Do you sell pumpkins?

Yes! Plan extra time and take your pick of the best pumpkins grown from the patch at the Bowers Farm. Half the fun is walking through the vines and picking your very own perfect pumpkin from our three acre pumpkin patch. Only $3 - $12 depending on size. Please plan on bringing cash or a check to pay our staff person stationed in our pumpkin patch. Pumpkin picking will only take place while it's light outside, until dusk.

Is there somewhere I can wait while my children go through the maze(s)?

Yes, feel free to stay warm by one of our bonfires or wait at a table in our covered tent. Please remember that children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult, for both the regular corn maze and the haunted maze.

What type of clothing should I wear?

All Michiganders know our weather is ever-changing, so please dress for the forecast. Wear comfortable, casual clothing with sturdy walking shoes or sneakers for walking on dirt trails. If the forecast calls for rain, just grab your raingear and boots and still plan on coming out. The maze is lots of fun, no matter what the weather holds. You may want to wear boots or old shoes if it has rained recently as the grounds may be a little wet.

Can I host a private party one of the weekend days prior to your opening time?

Yes, if you'd like a private party before we open, there is a minimum requirement of 250 paying people.

I have a large group attending, can I rent out the tent?

Yes, you can! Please call 248.341.6475 to reserve your date and time. Half the tent holds approx. 50 people and costs $65/two hours. The whole tent holds approx 100 people and costs $130/two hours.

Are there tables and chairs in the tent?

Yes, if you need to take a break, you're more than welcome to do so in the provided tent - if it's not completely rented out at that time.

Besides the tent, are there other public areas to “hang out”?

Yes, there are plenty of picnic tables that will be around the grounds, plus benches around the bonfires where you can sit and enjoy a fall snack!

Can I reserve a table in the tent or a picnic table outside the tent?

Since this is a public event we cannot reserve tables. However, feel free to grab an open table, put a recognizable sign for your group on it, and call it your meeting spot. We just ask that upon leaving, dispose of the sign and clean up for another group to use.

Is the tent heated?

No, it's not heated but it does have sides so it tends to keep the cold and wind out quite a bit. If you'd like to stay really warm, feel free to sit by one of our large bonfires!

How do I get the group discounted tickets?

The discounted group rate is $6/person for groups of 10 or more (ages 6+). To purchase the discounted tickets you have two choices:

1. On the day you attend the event, you can designate one person to approach the ticket booth and buy the number of tickets you need.

2. You can come into the office during the week and purchase your tickets in advance. The best time to come into the office is Mon-Fri between 9:00 and 3:00. Please call first to make sure someone is available to help you when you come in. (248) 341.6475.

Can I purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, feel free to stop in the farm office to purchase advanced tickets. This is required for large parties renting the tent and encouraged for other groups to avoid having to spend too much time at the ticket booth. The best hours to buy your advanced tickets are Mon – Fri between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm: however, please call first at 248.341.6475 and make an appointment to pick up your tickets (fall is a busy time and we tend to be in and out of the office getting ready for the corn maze).

Are tickets good for any evening?

Yes, if you purchase advanced tickets for a particular evening and something comes up and you're unable to attend, please feel free to attend another evening during the 2014 event!

What kind of animals will we be able to visit?

We have a pen near the maze showcasing a goat, pony, lamb, rabbit and poultry. As you're on the wagon ride, you'll most likely see our horses, a llama, goat, sheep and our resident donkey grazing in the pasture. Feel free to pet the animals in the pen and ask the volunteers lots of questions about the animals! We just ask that you do not feed the animals anything. They're on a strict farm diet

Can we bring "adult beverages”?

Is it prohibited to bring/use alcohol or to smoke at anytime on school farm property.

Should we bring a flashlight?

Yes, it's encouraged in the non-haunted maze. Even though there is some light from nearby streets, buildings, etc., it can get fairly dark in the maze, but then again, that's half the fun. A flashlight will come in handy while playing the challenge game.

Can I bring my dog?

For the safety of our farm animals and other visitors we ask that you keep your family pet at home.
