High school radio stations in the United States will come together for one day of celebration April 23rd when the 3rd Annual High School Radio Day is scheduled after a successful event last year. Since there are so few high schools with radio stations, organizers hope that High School Radio Day (HSRD) will raise a greater awareness of the ones that are still broadcasting over the air and newer ones streaming online. WBFH is the flagship station for the event founded by WBFH Station Manager Pete Bowers.
The Biff is back on the FM dial with a temporary antenna mounted on the high school roof. WBFH has been off the FM band since June 18th when the station moved to the BHHS Main Campus. The station will broadcast at reduced power with the temporary antenna until the permanent antenna is installed on the Bloomfield Township tower next to the fire station. Listeners can also hear the station on the Biff Radio app and on the Biff website, www.wbfh.fm. Getting back on the air was perfect timing for the station's pledge drive which aired for 16 hours April 17.
