The Arts
The visual and performing arts are key components in the BHS curriculum. Our award-winning programs allow children to explore their own talents and interests, as well as develop an appreciation for a wide variety of art forms and cultures.
Under the direction of a faculty of high-regarded artists in their own fields, we provide early and continuous exposure to art and music – an opportunity that improves our students’ scholarship.
Elementary School
Encouraging expression through art is a developmental need for all young and curious learners. Young artists explore drawing techniques, painting, and ceramics. All children enjoy an early exposure to the creative and intellectual benefits of vocal music. In addition, fourth grade students are introduced to instrumental music through the strings and band programs.
Middle School
As children grow, the arts play a larger role not only in self-expression but also in a child's appreciation for his/her role in society. Middle school students can select from a range of art electives to help develop their interests and abilities.
