MSU-Spartan Invitational Results
On Friday, September 15th the girls and boys cross country teams competed in the MSU-Spartan Invitational at Forest Akers East Golf Course (East Lansing, MI.). The MSU-Spartan Invitational brought in the best teams from the entire state, as well as from Ohio. Both varsity and jv teams ran in the Spartan Elite Division. The varsity girls scored 686 points, placed 25th as a team (out of 42 teams) and were lead by Shelby Jenkins’ 69th place finish. The jv girls scored 814 points, placed 29th as a team (out of 57 teams) and were lead by Emma Mashburn’s 24th place finish. The varsity boys scored 742 points, placed 30th as a team (out of 42 teams) and were lead by Damian Jankowski’s 101st place finish. The jv boys scored 695 points, placed 22nd as a team (out of 55 teams) and were lead by Jakar Dhillon’s 110th place finish. Overall, 5 athletes beat their 2 mile goal times (Luca Elena Barnett, DJ Cooper, Shelby Jenkins, Kenzo Lord and Mara Sabin). Also, 12 athletes ran either their season/career p.r.’s (personal records). Black Hawks of the meet were:

Averill Invitational Results
On Saturday, September 9th the girls and boys cross country teams competed in the Averill Invitational at Kensington Metropark (Milford, MI.). The varsity girls scored 201 points, placed 8th as a team (out of 19 teams) and were lead by Shelby Jenkins’ 14th place finish. The varsity boys scored 255 points, placed 9th as a team (out of 18 teams) and were lead by Damian Jankowski’s 27th place finish. No team scores were kept for the junior varsity races. Overall, 4 athletes beat their season/career p.r.’s (personal record) and they were selected “Black Hawks of the meet”.

OAA White Division Jamboree 1 Results
On Wednesday, September 6th the girls and boys cross country teams kicked-off the league competition of the 2017 season. They traveled to Royal Oak High School for the OAA White Division Jamboree #1. The varsity girls scored 56 points, placed 2nd as a team and were lead by Shelby Jenkins’ 5th place finish. The junior varsity girls scored 87 points, placed 3rd as a team and were led by Allison Fealk’s 3rd place finish. The varsity boys scored 95 points, placed 4th as a team and were lead by Jacob King’s 10th place finish. The junior varsity boys scored 85 points, placed 4th as a team and were led by Anthony Yun’s 6th place finish. Overall, 11 athletes beat their 2 mile goal times, and 43 out of 50 athletes beat their season/career p.r.’s (personal record). CLICK HERE for meet results.
Corunna Earlybird Invitational Results
Tuesday August 29th the girls and boys cross country teams kicked-off the 2017 season. They traveled to the Corunna Earlybird Invitational, held at the Shiawassee Fairgrounds (Corunna, MI.). The girls scored 70 points, placed third as a team, the top seven earned medals and Abigail LeFlore was selected the runner of the meet. The boys scored 83 points, placed third as team, the top eleven earned medals and Brendan Murray was selected runner of the meet. CLICK HERE for meet results.
