Lone Pine 3rd graders will be the only students assessed with the M-Step. Testing will begin May 2nd. A detailed testing schedule will be sent home in backpacks. The state offers a wealth of information for parents regarding M-Step testing, which can be found here:,4615,7-140-22709_70117---,00.html If you have a 3rd grader, I strongly encourage you to explore these resources (scroll to the bottom of that webpage for parent resources). The Lone Pine staff will do our best to support your children in doing their personal best on this assessment without becoming overly anxious about it, and we appreciate the support you provide at home to do the same. Please make sure your third grader is well-rested, has a good breakfast, and attends school on her/his scheduled test days.

We are asking for parent support in abiding by building security and pick-up procedures for students in our after-school programs.

Parents picking up students from an after-school recreation program (floor hockey, chess, cheer, etc) should meet their students at the main entrance of the building at the designated pick-up time. Coaches/teachers will escort students to the door from the classroom or gym. Parents should not request admission to the building through the latchkey entrance unless they are picking up a latchkey student. This puts our latchkey staff in a difficult situation to determine who should be allowed in, and is also disruptive to their program.

Parents dropping off for Math Pentathlon in the mornings should arrive no later than 8:15AM, as the main entrance is manned by a volunteer until that time. The office does not open to admit any late Math Pentathlon students until 8:30AM. Parents should not bring students to Math Pentathlon through the latchkey entrance (unless students are registered for latchkey leading up to the start of a Math Pentathlon session).
