WHMS 2016-17 Registration
Dear new and returning West Hills Middle School families:
We hope that you are having a safe and happy summer and look forward to seeing most of you at registration! During registration you can turn in forms that we require annually for each student, and pre-pay fees for field trips to the Farm and Nature Center.
Regular Registration - Registration will be held at West Hills Middle School on the following days from 8 until 11 a.m. and 1 until 3 p.m. The building will be closed between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Monday, August 22, 2016 – All Grades
- Tuesday, August 23, 2016 – All Grades
Alternative Registration - If you are unable to make it in for registration, you have two options:
- Have a friend turn in your completed and signed forms for you during registration. Make sure that you and your student have signed where required.
- Bring forms and fees to the WHMS main office the first week of school.
Important Information You Should Know:
WHMS Field Trip Fees Payable at Registration - Checks should be made payable to BHSD. Cash is also accepted. Registration lines move more quickly if your check is written prior to getting to the front of the line.
Note: A separate check will be needed for PTO dues and/or a Yearbook.
*Note: This fee covers the cost for all scheduled trips to the Farm and Nature Center. Most parents prefer this prepay option. However, you may pay $7 to your child's teacher prior to each individual trip if you prefer. Fees for other field trips may apply, and will be collected directly by the teacher.
Athletic Physical Forms: Completed forms signed by a physician must be turned in to Mrs. Wendell in the WHMS office (or at registration) before any student may try out for or practice with a WHMS team. The physical must be completed on the district form, include all required signatures, and be dated on or after April 15, 2016, to be valid for the upcoming school year. Prior year forms are not kept on file.
Pay to Participate (P2P) Fee for Sports and Clubs: For students who wish to participate in any WHMS sport OR club, including forensics and robotics. This fee must be paid directly to the District Athletic/Recreation Office to ensure proper credit. DO NOT turn your P2P fee in at the school.
Free and Reduced Lunch Program: BHS participates in the National School Lunch Program. Families must apply directly through the Bloomfield Hills Food Services Department. Forms are also available in the WHMS main office. Families that qualify can receive free or reduced price meals. Families that were approved last year must fill out a NEW form within the first two weeks of school to continue assistance. All children receiving free or reduced meals are kept confidential.
Kidz Zone: Students are not allowed in the building before 7:50 a.m. or after 3:15 p.m. unless they are part of a supervised WHMS activity. If your child needs before or after school care, please sign up through Kidz Zone. Information is available by clicking here.
We look forward to an exciting school year at West Hills Middle School!
