Food Service Update for Elementary Students

Dear Elementary Families:

Welcome to a new school year! The Bloomfield Hills Food Service staff are looking forward to serving your children this year and have been working hard to provide safe and healthy solutions for food service.

Together with Bloomfield Hills Schools, the Oakland County Health Department, the Oakland County food service directors, and the Michigan Department of Education, we have created a plan to distribute FREE, individually-prepared meals -- available to all Bloomfield Hills students.

These meals are available at no cost to your family through December 2020 or until funds are no longer available for this program. Breakfast and lunch will be provided in bags to take home as students leave school on their scheduled in-person days. Extra meals will be available upon request if a student would like to meals for a Wednesday (if they are attending Mondays and Tuesdays), or for Saturday and Sunday (if they are attending school on Thursdays and Fridays).

Meals that are provided in bags to take home are intended to be prepared at home.  Although these meals are fully cooked, simple cooking instructions may be included to enhance the intended taste and texture of the product. The menu for September is available here.

Meals also continue to be served curbside at Bloomfield Hills High School on Mondays and Thursdays between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. for families.

For further information concerning our food service program such as menus, free and reduced applications, and food modification forms for children with allergies, visit our website.

Please make sure to apply for or update your free or reduced lunch application as well.  This information is important to have for other programs in our district and will go into effect for food service once the current program ends. Applications can be completed on-line or paper applications can be scanned and emailed to or faxed to 248.341.5697. Learn more about the process here.

We are proud to serve the children of Bloomfield Hills Schools and encourage you to support our ongoing efforts to improve student health and well-being by participating in our food service program.

Thank you!
Marianne Romsek
