BHHS Celebrates Coca-Cola Scholar: Kathryn Ho

Bloomfield Hills High School is proud to recognize grade 12 student Kathryn Ho as a 2026 Coca-Cola Scholar, one of the most prestigious and competitive honors awarded to high school students nationwide. Selected from over 107,000 applicants, Ho is among just 150 students chosen this year to receive a $20,000 scholarship award toward studying at an accredited U.S. college or university. Scholars will attend a leadership conference hosted by Coca-Cola in Atlanta April 23-26, 2026.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic excellence, leadership, and service. Scholars are recognized not only for their accomplishments, but also for creating meaningful, lasting impact within their communities, and for their potential to drive positive change at the national and global levels.

Ho was chosen for this honor due to exemplifying these values through work advancing access and equity in healthcare. Ho founded Bridging the Care Gap; an initiative focused on improving access to essential medications for Detroit residents experiencing homelessness. Through this effort, Ho secured over $50,000 in funding and built partnerships across healthcare systems and community organizations, delivering critical medications to thousands of patients in need.

Beyond healthcare, Ho has led cross-sector initiatives to address systemic barriers, including efforts to expand access to essential resources and create employment pathways for underserved communities. This work reflects a broader commitment to developing sustainable, scalable solutions that drive impact at both the state and national levels.

Involved in multiple leadership roles, Ho is a multi-year Drum Major, President of Tri-M Music Honor Society and the Asian Student Alliance, and Vice President of DECA and the Interact Club, and also co-led launching The Perch, BHHS first student-run spirit store. This fall, Ho will attend the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania to study finance and scale impact.
