Make a Paper Airplane Day Saturday, May 25, 1:00p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Young aviators of all ages are invited to drop in the Youth Room to make a paper airplane. We will supply the paper, example designs, and the “runway” – you supply the creativity. No registration is required. 

Outdoor Family Story Time Wednesday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. For families of all ages. Join us outside for story time on the Youth Terrace. Grab your jackets and blankets, and cozy up together for stories, songs, rhymes, movement, and more. In the case of inclement weather, Story Time will be held inside. No registration is required.

Brick Builders – Things that Fly Theme  Thursday, May 30 at 7:00 p.m. Junior architects, ages 6 and up, are invited to join us for building fun with LEGO bricks. Create your own masterpiece or do a theme building challenge with your friends. No registration required.

Tots and Friends Playtime  Fridays, May 31 – June 28 at 10:00 a.m.  Drop in for unstructured play, building, and discovery in the Story Room. Caregivers and little ones of all ages can interact with toys and books that support each child’s learning and development. Adaptive toys for children with low vision, motor difficulties, or other accessibility needs will be included. No registration is required.

Join the Summer Teen Volunteer Program at the Bloomfield Township Public Library! You can earn community service hours, build your resume for college and job applications, and help the Library. Applicants must be ages 14-18 and attending high school in Fall 2024 and must reside in the Bloomfield Township Public Library service area or be enrolled in Bloomfield Hills Public Schools.  The library is hosting two information sessions so you can learn more about volunteering this summer on June 1 and June 27. Friends of the Library Book Sale  Saturday, June 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friends members may shop the sale early from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and memberships can be purchased at the door on the day of the sale. The sale takes place on the lower level of the Library and includes thousands of books and audiovisual materials for all ages and interests, conveniently sorted into more than 50 categories.

Please note that the Library will be closed Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day holiday. The Library will reopen on Tuesday, May 28 for regular business hours.
