Conant’s Grade 2 Students Create Meaningful Postcards

Grade 2 students at Conant recently crafted postcards for a social studies unit. These postcards highlight significant places within our community, including interesting facts about the locations. Students conducted interviews with adults, researched online, and designed these postcards as their summative project.

The postcards will be showcased in the history section of the Bloomfield Township Public Library, displayed in glass cases until February. The cards will be archived once they are taken down, ensuring they become a lasting part of our history!

This project not only allowed the students to explore and appreciate their local community, it provided them with valuable skills in research, communication, and creativity. By engaging in interviews and utilizing online resources, the students gained a deeper understanding of the places that hold special meaning to them and their neighbors. The exhibit at the library is a testament to their hard work and dedication, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the perspectives of our youngest historians. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the insights and discoveries of these bright young minds.
