BHS Board of Education Appoints Student Interns and Advisors

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education has introduced their 2021-22 Student Interns and Student Advisors. These appointees will provide student voice into various Board business items and report regularly to the Board on student issues and initiatives over the next year.

Board Trustee Michelle Southward, who led the process, acknowledged the difficulty of the final decision of the Board given the excellent candidates. Each candidate submitted an application and essay which was reviewed by the committee and then attended a virtual interview during which additional questions were asked. Trustee Howard Baron, Trustee John Van Gemert, and Superintendent Pat Watson also served on the selection committee.

The Student Interns are Heather Chen (grade 11) and Leena Jandali (grade 11). The Student Advisors are Ali Allam (grade 11), Kennedy Stafford (grade 11), Natalie Tsimhoni (grade 10), Jaanaki Radhakrishnan (grade 11), Erin Williams (grade 11), and Andrew Zupancic (grade 11).

“I thank each and every one of you for the time you are going to give us. We are looking forward to your leadership, growth and development, and all that you have to contribute to our group,” said Southward.

Congratulations to these outstanding students!
