Congratulations to the BHHS Jazz Bands for their terrific performances at MSBOA State Jazz Festival in March. The Jazz Ensemble earned straight first division ratings and was just notified of some amazing group and individual honors.
The trombone section (Dylan Young, Nicholas Simonelli, Niklas Becker, Andrew Mulhem and Oscar Smith) was one of only nine groups to be designated as an "Outstanding Trombone Section" throughout the entire state.
The rhythm section (Minglu Jiang, Reid Smith, Nick Shenouda, and Shayan Aamir) was one of only seven sections to be designated as an "Outstanding Rhythm Section" throughout the entire state.
In addition, Shayan Aamir (guitar), Minglu Jiang (bass), and Danny Stern (trumpet) were 3 of the 95 students designated as "Outstanding Soloists" throughout the state of Michigan.
