BHS Expands School Social Worker Team
Bloomfield Hills Schools has hired two additional school social workers this fall to further enhance the district’s goal to provide a setting for teaching, learning and parent collaboration at its highest level. Jennifer Perrone, Director of Special Education and school social worker supervisor, shares, “We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to expand the district’s social worker team to allow for at least one full-time school social worker in every building so we can best support the social-emotional needs of all of our students.”
School social workers are trained mental health professionals. They advocate for our students and create plans for teachers and parents to implement to help our students learn as effectively as possible. Proper social and emotional support is unique to each child, and they give that one-on-one attention providing the necessary tools and resources for a student's success.
