Giving is contagious in Bloomfield Hills Schools this season, creating smiles on the faces of those who receive and those who give. Below are just some of the ways that BHS students are giving back and spreading kindness.
- Eastover is teaming up with Toys for Tots to help deliver hope in the form of toys to children who may not be able to receive them otherwise.
- Conant did a school-wide book study on the book “Wonder” and learned about the importance of kindness. Each class is now spreading kindness in many ways including writing notes to first responders, collecting blankets and other items for those in need, catching kind acts around the building, and striving to meet kindness goals.
- Way started a 4th grade Kindness Crew. Students meet once a month and complete projects to build a positive community and spread kindness. These students wrote encouraging notes and hid them in books in the library. They also had the entire school make a paper quilt piece highlighting family traditions as some examples of their work.
- Members of Lone Pine participated in Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital's Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams..
- BHMS 7th graders did a service project where they cut, sorted, and knotted fabric to make more than 100 dog pull toys for the dogs without homes at the Detroit Animal Care and Control.
