Black Hawks Soar at Science Olympiad

The BHHS Science Olympiad competitive and alternate teams were two of 33 high school teams participating at the regional tournament held at Detroit Country Day School on February 28, 2026. The Black Hawk competitive team placed 10th overall. Students won medals in the following events:

Anatomy and Physiology

Eliana D'Mello (grade 12) and Jonny Bahu (grade 11): 1st place 

Saniah Gibson (grade 9) and Shrika Sajja (grade 10): 5th place

Helicopter

Callie Hruska (grade 10) and Tyler Peterson (grade 10): 5th place

Remote Sensing

Reese Callahan (grade 10) and Tarek Hatab (grade 9): 8th place

Robot Tour 

Madison McEwen (grade 9) and Marcus Zheng (grade 9): 3rd place

Zoey Keiper (grade 9) and Callie Hruska (grade 10): 8th place

The team of D’Mello and Bahu will move on to the state competition at MSU on April 25, 2026!
