The KidsRead2Kids Club at Bloomfield Hills High School recently organized a book drive for children attending the Racial Justice Advisory Council event this past weekend in Pontiac, Michigan. The BHS Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs) through the BHS PTO Council helped promote the book drive in their schools.
“We filled our car with hundreds of books to donate,” said Reuben Blumenstein (grade 10), Co-Founder and Art Director for the club.
Julia Blumenstein (grade 11), Co-Founder of KidsRead2Kids, also attended the event, helping recommend titles for the kids based on their ages and interests. “The kids were so excited to bring home their new books,” exclaimed Reuben. “We are so grateful to all of the PTO leaders and families who helped make our book drive an incredible success.”
The Racial Justice Advisory Council is a new subcommittee in the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office and hosted the Justice Resource Fair to provide resources and information to the community.
