You may have seen Superintendent Pat Watson visiting our middle schools, joining in conversations at the elementary schools, substitute teaching at BHHS, or attending high school sporting events. Watson is a well-known smiling face around Bloomfield Hills Schools. “I like to see our students and staff engaging in the learning process,” said Watson. “Seeing students grow as learners and individuals is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.”
Along with the day-to-day interactions with students, Watson has made it a priority to get out and meet with the community through various events throughout this school year. In August, Watson braved the cold water of the dunk tank at the BHS Welcome Back event at BHHS. In October, there was a slow hike through Johnson Nature Center. “I enjoyed stepping out of the office on a beautiful fall day to learn about nature, breathe the fresh air, and talk with our local community members about what is important to them and what they want to see from our school district,” Watson said. “As a community, we are beyond fortunate to have the Johnson Nature Center and Bowers School Farm available to enhance our student learning experiences and create wonderful spaces for our community members to come together.” In November, Watson was joined by some of the younger community members at the Bloomfield Township Public Library for story time and crafts.
These Superintendent events are geared toward a variety of ages, providing all an opportunity to get to know Superintendent Watson and interact in a casual setting. This month, Watson will be hosting a Music and Mingle, Wednesday, December 21, at 11 a.m. at the Bloomfield Township Senior Center (4315 Andover Rd. Bloomfield Township). Other upcoming events
Pickleball with Pat on Tuesday, January 31, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at West Hills Middle School (2601 Lone Pine Rd, West Bloomfield). Join Superintendent Watson for some fun on the courts.
