Congratulations to the Bloomfield Hills Schools Teachers of the Year!

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Teacher of the Year award recognizes exceptional educators who demonstrate a deep commitment to their students and make a meaningful impact in their classrooms. Each year, one outstanding teacher is honored at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

The 2025-26 Elementary Teacher of the Year is Linda Carlson of Lone Pine Elementary. Ms. Carlson is a devoted educator who has consistently engaged students through her intentional practices. Carlson thoughtfully adapts lessons and interventions to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that each student receives the support necessary for academic and social growth. Her steady presence allows her to monitor progress closely, adjust strategies in real time, and provide individualized guidance, promoting meaningful and measurable outcomes for all learners. Whether mentoring new staff, collaborating with seasoned colleagues, or supporting school-wide initiatives, Carlson consistently demonstrates integrity, commitment, and an unwavering dedication to the success and well-being of the entire school community.

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Middle School Teacher of the Year is Danelle Veillette from South Hills Middle School. Veillette has created a learning environment that is both empowering and supportive. Veillette cultivates a culture of "Belong Here - Excel Anywhere," where students feel seen, valued, and eager to take academic risks because their ideas genuinely matter. Through choice reading, collaborative discourse, and units shaped by student interests and feedback, her classroom thrives as a dynamic, responsive community. Veillette engages with caregivers by offering guidance on academic progress, sharing strategies for supporting social and emotional development at home, or simply providing encouragement during challenging times. Families consistently note that her accessibility, responsiveness, and sincere care make them feel supported and confident that their children are thriving in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Bloomfield Hills High School Teacher of the Year is Amy Scott.
