Registration is open now for Bloomfield Hills Schools’ GSRP Just Fours program for the 2024-25 school year. 

The first step of the registration process is through the MiEarly Childhood Connect website; select “Preschool 3-5 year olds” on the form.

Information about GSRP

The Michigan Department of Education’s Great Start Readiness Program has expanded to increase early education options for young learners. GSRP is the nationally recognized state-funded preschool program offering kindergarten preparation for four-year-old children.

Eligibility for free GSRP preschool (turning 4-years-old by September 1) is primarily determined based on family household income. Thresholds have been adjusted to allow access for more families. For the upcoming school year, eligibility is offered to households making up to 400% of the federal poverty level (example: a four member household with an annual income of $124,800 or less). 

With enhanced GSRP state funding for the 2024-25 school year, Bloomfield Hills Schools will have additional seats available; will extend instructional hours to be consistent with full-day school schedule of 4 or 5 days per week; and will continue to ensure a highly qualified and credentialed teaching staff. 

Updates about Proposed Free Preschool / GSRP

Governor Whitmer released information proposing lifting the income eligibility requirements to allow all four-year-olds the opportunity for free preschool. BHS is working alongside both the state and regional leaders to closely monitor these changes. We are planning for and will be ready to adjust our registration process and programmatic needs as things continue to evolve.
