High School Community Shows Homecoming Spirit

High School Community Shows Homecoming Spirit
The Bloomfield Hills High School community recently celebrated Homecoming with a variety of events including dress up days, an afternoon of spirited Black Hawk games between grades, a night of hallway decorating, and a pep assembly led by the marching band.

Students and staff agreed that participation was not only high, but student creativity was on full display. Everyone especially loved the “Anything But a Backpack” spirit day where students brought everything from a shopping cart to suitcases to pet carriers to a full-size grill. The Ingrid M. Day Commons was also imaginatively transformed into homages to various cereals, which was the unique but fully embraced theme of the Homecoming week.

In addition, two major community events took place: the boys varsity soccer game on Thursday night, which invited students from grades K-8 to attend, and the varsity football game on Friday night, which showcased homecoming events including the dance team, the BHHS and alumni marching band performances, and the introduction of the newest BHHS Alumni Hall of Fame teams. The week was capped by the all-school Homecoming dance on Saturday at BHHS.
