Introducing Visitor Aware

Our district is implementing Visitor Aware, a streamlined system for signing in and out of all school buildings. Upon arrival, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued photo ID. The ID is securely checked against national safety databases. If a concern is identified, entry will be paused for review. Guests who are approved will receive a printed visitor pass, allowing them to continue into the building. Once verified and checked in, the name badge must be worn at all times while on school premises. 

When visiting any of our schools, please follow these steps to ensure a safe and efficient check-in:

1. Upon entering the front office, please use the iPad to check in with a valid, state-issued ID.
2. Once your check-in is complete, the office staff will grant you access to your desired location.
3. Receive and wear your printed visitor badge at all times while in the building.
4. Before leaving, return to the main office to check out.

While this is an important step in streamlining our processes and strengthening the security of our schools, we recognize that the transition may present some initial challenges and will require time for both staff and families to adjust to the new system.
