March 2026 Athletic Highlights

 

Basketball

The boys basketball team had a tremendous season this year with many individual and team accomplishments! The team finished with a record of 20 wins and 4 losses and achieved the best regular season record in school history. The team also won the OAA league championship, finishing undefeated in the league, and Coach Brian Canfield won OAA Coach of the Year!

The following players all received OAA All-League recognition:

  • Brennan Bies, Forward (grade 12) 
  • Carter Canfield, Guard (grade 11) 
  • Carter Hartfield, Guard (grade 11) 
  • Da’ron Mason, Guard (grade 12) 

The following players received OAA All-League honorable mention:

  • Mason Hitchcock, Forward (grade 11)  
  • Ryan Hunt, Guard (grade 12) 
  • Meyer Saperstein, Guard (grade 12) 

In addition, Mason had a historical career, scoring 1,246 career points and is now fourth in BHHS all-time scoring leaders. Post graduation, Mason will attend Wayne State University on a basketball scholarship. 

The Unified Basketball team had an amazing game in front of their adoring fans at BHHS. They played well against a strong Seasholm team and all had a great time!

Boys Swim and Dive

The team finished their season strong. Achievements include:

All league winners:

  • Seif Elbaradey (grade 11) in the 100 free
  • Miles Marx (grade 11) in the 50 free *New team record
  • Charlie Antone (grade 12), Francis Baker (grade 10), Seif Elbaradey, and Miles Marx in the 200 free relay *New team record
  • Charlie Antone, Seif Elbaradey, Victor Malinski (grade 11), and Miles Marx in the 400 free relay *Broke the OAA Red league meet record and set a new team record

At the Division 1 state meet, Bloomfield Hills finished 5th overall with 147 points which is the highest score and finish in school history! The full state team included: Charlie Antone, Will Antone (grade 11),  Francis Baker, Jack Conroy (grade 11), Steven Dronzkowski (grade 10), Seif Elbaradey, Victor Mailinski, and Miles Marx. 

The following earned All-Star Honors:

  • Charlie Antone, Francis Baker, Seif Elbaradey, and Miles Marx are State Champions in the 200 free relay
  • Charlie Antone, Seif Elbaradey, Victor Malinski, and Miles Marx finished in 3rd place in the 400 free relay
  • Miles Marx finished 2nd in the 100 fly and 4th in the 50 free
  • Seif Elbaradey finished 8th in the 200 Free
  • Victor Malinski finished 8th in the 200 IM

Wrestling

Kanata Richardson (grade 12) won the Girls National Wrestling Championship in the 190-pound weight class! Richardson is excited to continue a wrestling career at Northern Michigan University.
