Bloomfield Hills Schools will be hosting Move-Up Day this school year. As part of Move-Up Day, students who will be moving from middle school to Bloomfield Hills High School next school year will spend time at BHHS. For current fifth through eigthth-graders, Move-Up Day is Friday, May 23, which is also a 1/2 day of school.
Here is how the Move Up Day experience will work:
- 8th Graders: 8th graders should NOT report to NHMS/SHMS on May 23. There is no need to call in an absence for a current 8th grader into the attendance line.
- 8th Graders who will attend Bloomfield Hills High School: Students should go directly to the high school campus at the times indicated in this letter from BHHS Principal, Dr. Dan Hartley. This letter provides instructions for your 8th grader on that day. It's important that you keep this for reference, as it indicates the location, schedule, drop-off and pick-up instructions for your 8th grader on May 23. Dr. Hartley’s letter refers to bus transportation to the high school in the morning only.
- 8th graders who WILL NOT attend Bloomfield Hills High School: these students do not need to report to the middle or high school on that day. You do NOT need to call in their absence.
- 6th and 7th Graders: On Move-Up Day, students in these grades will participate in activities with the teachers from the grades that they will be in next year. The morning start time does not change, and the 1/2 day ends at 11:40 a.m.
- 5th Graders: 5th Graders from across the district will Move Up into our 6th grade classrooms as well. Please review the letters from the middle school principals that include important instructions for Move Up day.
