Meet Deaflympics Gold Medalist Brooke Thompson!
Bloomfield Hills Schools Athletics will be honoring Deaflympics Gold Medalist Brooke Thompson during the first home football game of the season on August 25, 2022.
As the guest of honor at the August 25th event, Brooke will run through the Black Hawks tunnel during Pregame and be seated in the VIP section at the endzone of the stadium to cheer on the Black Hawks. A recognition of Brooke’s accomplishments will take place during the half-time show. Prior to the game, Brooke will be available for photo opportunities and card signings during the BHS PTOC Annual Welcome Back Celebration at Bloomfield Hills High School from 4-7 p.m.
Brooke Thompson (11th grade) of Bloomfield Hills Schools won a gold medal at the Deaflympics in Brazil in May 2022. Thompson, who attends International Academy Okma Campus, swam as part of the Women's 4 X 100 Meter Freestyle relay team who came from behind to take first place in the race. Teammates Carli Cronk, Samantha Fujii, and Kaitlyn Weatherby joined Thompson on the podium. Thompson also placed 8th in the 200M Freestyle.
Bloomfield Hills Schools Parent Teacher Organization Council is hosting a Welcome Back Celebration for school families on August 25, 2022, at Bloomfield Hills High School from 4-7 p.m. prior to the first home football game of the season. The event will consist of games and fun for all ages including animal visits from Bowers Farm, raffles, prizes, food, a video gaming truck, and performances from BHS students.
