Michigan Budget & Free Meals Update

Michigan Budget & Free Meals Update

The State of Michigan has finalized the budget, which includes continued funding for the Michigan School Meals program. This means that all Bloomfield Hills Schools students will continue to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost for the remainder of the school year.

While we are relieved to have clarity on this important issue and are appreciative that the state increased the per-pupil foundation allowance, that small gain is offset by reductions in other critical areas of funding. Bloomfield Hills Schools is currently analyzing the impact to overall revenue for 2025-26.

Bloomfield Hills Schools remains committed to strong fiscal stewardship and to advocating for sustainable, predictable funding that allows Michigan schools to plan responsibly and meet the needs of every student. We are grateful for our community’s continued partnership and support.
