Move Up Day May 28
On Friday, May 28, 2021, there will be a transition day for many of our students, commonly referred to as “Move Up” day. This is a half day for all students.
Elementary Buildings & Bloomfield Virtual
All elementary students will be in-person following a regular half day schedule.
Grades K-2 (and 3rd grade at Way and Conant) will be in their regular classes for the day.
Eastover and Lone Pine 3rd graders and Conant and Way 4th graders will report to their classrooms for a normal in-person half day. Bloomfield Virtual students will participate in their normal virtual learning environment. At 10am, these students will experience a virtual Move Up Day. They will meet with elementary teachers from their home middle schools and middle school principals on Zoom and learn more about 4th and 5th grade expectations and their new school!
Middle School Buildings and BHHS
Students in middle school buildings and at BHHS will be virtual on Friday, May 28.
For all grade levels at middle school buildings, move up day meetings will be virtual and students will not attend in-person on that day. At 9:45 a.m. middle school building students will join their current grade level teacher(s) for a morning meeting. At 10:00 a.m. their teacher(s) will guide them to the next grade level’s Zoom for their “move-up” experience. This includes current 8th graders who will meet with BHHS Student Leadership and administrators on Zoom, learning more about high school expectations.
Reminder: The first day of school for all high school students is September 8. A modified schedule will be shared later by the high school and will feature a freshman orientation session in the morning, including lunch, and then 10-12 grades will join in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity for ninth graders to be in the building with no other grade levels and meet their teachers, see the learning spaces, and meet other students. September 9 is a full day for all high school students.
