North & South Hills Middle School Students Achieve Success at Spring MIFA State Finals

Students from North and South Hills Middle School Forensics Teams did a fantastic job at the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association state tournament on April 27th. Black Hawk students performed extremely well and made great improvements with their public speaking skills. Jay Schumacher, Drama Teacher and Forensics Coach, remarked, “We are very proud of [the students’] hard work, dedication, and efforts towards working on their craft. The students represented our school very well.” South Hills Coaches Eve Pierre, Robbie Mullin, Alan Neuwirth, and Lisa Kucinski were proud of their students' hard work and dedication to Forensics. The biggest takeaway was the display of SHMS team members' sportsmanship to their teammates and competitors on the other teams. “Our students made new friends, conquered some fears of public speaking, and learned the art of communication through Forensics. We are looking forward to next year!” commented Eve Pierre.

Congratulations to the Forensics competitors and all of their success!
