PREP Students Host Troy TCT Students

PREP students were so excited to welcome the Troy Center for Transition (TCT) students for a day of enriching activities! BHS students gathered by the door awaiting their arrival. The PREP teaching staff prepared the classrooms at Booth Center for four different activities: yoga, cooking, charades, and making creative Fall themed cards for Veterans.

In the yoga room, serene sounds played in the background while students practiced yoga poses. The kitchen was bustling with sounds of spoons against mixing bowls as students prepared three-ingredient muffins. Students shouted out guesses and clapped with correct answers in the charades room. Light chatter was heard in the card making room while the students selected their supplies and got to work.

Our Bloomfield students were proud to host the Troy students and enjoyed the camaraderie and shared experiences. PREP teacher Meghan Gornick commented, “The best thing about working with other programs is to meet new people! Many of our friends have similar job experiences and attend many of the same programs in the community.  We have similar interests and hobbies. To date, we have set up basketball tournaments, gone bowling, watched movies, organized multiple Friendsgivings, explored local parks, had lunch, and played bingo together. We continue to reach out to other adult transition programs to enhance our learning experiences in the community and at work. It's been the best!”
