Safety and Security in Bloomfield Hills Schools: A Strong Partnership with Local Police and Fire Departments

Bloomfield Hills Schools prioritizes the safety and security of its students, staff, and community. Through a strong and ongoing partnership with the Bloomfield Township Police Department, Bloomfield Township Fire Department, and a positive working relationship with the West Bloomfield Police Department, the district ensures the highest level of preparedness in every school.

With two dedicated school resource officers on site, BHS takes a proactive approach to safety. The SROs, Officer Jennifer Lower and Officer Tom Riney, not only handle investigations and security concerns, but they also play an educational role, building positive relationships with students, staff, and families to foster a secure learning environment. Our SROs also collaborate with our district administration and play an integral role in the planning and reviewing of our safety and security procedures.

Additionally, BHS and the BTPD emphasize the importance of strong home partnerships. Parents and guardians play a key role in ensuring safety by reinforcing procedures and keeping communication open with leaders in the district.
