Summer Learning Program Provides Learning and Fun
Elementary and middle school students had a great experience at Bloomfield Hills Schools Summer School. There were 255 students from grades K-8 who were hosted at Bloomfield Hills High School from June through mid-August. This location gave the students the opportunity to see all amenities at BHHS and get comfortable in that environment.
The teachers provided not only core academic learning throughout the summer, but also interactive activities. For example, as a follow up to a grade 4 economics lesson, the students created a waterpark and discussed staffing. Superintendent Pat Watson visited and reported there were lots of smiling faces and intriguing questions.
BHS appreciates the hard work of BHS Summer School Principal Nick Riggs along with the rest of the summer staff who made the experience so educational and fun for all the students.
