Thank You Volunteers!

Bloomfield Hills Schools extends a heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers in our community who make a lasting impact on the educational experience. From the first days of preschool through high school graduation, students benefit from family volunteerism every step of the way. 

Volunteers at the preschool and elementary levels serve as classroom activity planners, field trip chaperones, mystery readers, book fair helpers, rec sports coaches, club leaders, and more. Each year, volunteer-led PTOs host several community-building events that are not only fun for students, but also build connections among families that last well beyond grade 5.

In middle school, volunteers plan school dances, grade-level activities, snack fundraisers, spiritwear and sports team attire, staff appreciation meals, and more. And as students prepare to move from grade 8 to high school, PTO volunteers organize grade level celebrations to commemorate the transition.

Even in high school, as students take on their own volunteer initiatives, families continue to serve crucial behind-the-scenes roles. Athletics, arts, robotics, and other co-curricular programs rely on volunteers for fundraising and support, as do staff appreciation efforts. Volunteers also plan and organize the annual Senior All-Night Party, as a safe and memorable experience to mark the end of high school.

Other efforts are community-wide: our annual Make a Difference Day initiative each fall invites students and family members of all ages to participate in a service project benefitting our local surrounding communities. Similarly, Bloomfield Youth Assistance (BYA) is a volunteer-run organization that provides a variety of support services and scholarships when families need them most.

So this spring, as you attend your school’s year-end celebration events, take a moment to notice the volunteers who planned, organized, and executed every detail. Our vast network of community volunteers help to create memories that last a lifetime, and Bloomfield Hills Schools is grateful for each and every one!
