We wanted to take a moment to let you know that while Comerica is vigilant on watching our P Cards for fraudulent activity, that we have been informed of an instance where one of our PCard holders received a call from someone stating that they were from Comerica and wanted to confirm several charges. The person had the first four digits of their card number and then proceeded to obtain our billing zip code. Of note, the required transparency reporting posted on our website contains all cardholder names, credit limit and the last 4 digits of all cards as required.

Please know that Comerica will never call you directly to alert you of possible fraud on your pcard. If they notice suspicious activity they will put a temporary hold on your card and an email will come to the Finance Team alerting us of the activity. When we receive the email we follow up with the PCard holder to confirm if the activity was fraudulent or not.  If the activity is confirmed as fraudulent the card is permanently closed and a new card issued.  If there are any charges on the card that did get through as fraudulent, those charges would then go through a dispute process.

Be suspicious if you receive any calls from someone stating they are from Comerica and wanting to confirm transactions.  Please do not provide any responses and disconnect from the call.

Let the finance team know if there are any questions.
