Rebecca Lozar, D/HH teacher at Fox Hills Preschool, and Christine Spike, D/HH Speech Language Pathologist are a part of the LEAD-K (Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids PA 256) committee in Lansing, Michigan. The committee consists of 15 D/HH professionals from around the state. The goal of the committee is to create language acquisition resources for parents and guardians of children who are D/HH, ages 0-5 years old. These resources will also be used by districts all over Michigan by August 2025. Within the resources that Lozar and Spike will aid in creating, will be important milestones and assessment tools that can be used to assess a child’s language acquisition needs.
