The August 24, 2026 Board of Education Meeting Staff Recap: 

• The Board of Education had general discussion regarding the below items: 
  • Board Committee Reports 
  • Strategic Planning Update 
  • Superintendent Goals for 2026-27 Discussion
• The Special Recognition portion of the meeting included: 
  • Sutton Foster Award: Lillian Tang 
• The following reports were provided: 
  • Superintendent Rick West provided a Superintendent's Report. 
  • Board of Education President Tareq Falah provided a Board President’s Report. 
• The Board of Education approved all Consent Agenda items. 
• The board business portion of the meeting included: 
  • The Board of Education approved the Volume of Reading and Geodes Decodables curriculum adoption and to purchase the resources to support the program in the amount of $238,601.91, to be paid from the General Fund supported by 35M funding, as presented. 
  • The Board of Education approved an additional contingency of $30,000 for Bid Package #13 to complete the Bloomin' West and Robotics renovations, to be paid from the Bond Fund, as presented. 
  • The Board of Education approved the changes to Board Policy recommended by legal counsel, as presented.
