The Dare to Care initiative, introduced by Superintendent West, celebrates those who go above and beyond to show kindness, empathy, and support within our school community.
Alan Jaros said, " I am honored to nominate Kate Bell, Farm Manager at Bowers School Farm, for the Dare to Care Award. Kate consistently goes above and beyond in her role, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the farm and the students who contribute to its success. This time of year is incredibly demanding, as Kate manages the Operations at Winter Park, oversees baby birthing season, and juggles countless other responsibilities essential to farm operations. Despite her full plate, Kate’s commitment to supporting students never wavers. Recently, the Level 4 BHHS students, along with Academy students, expressed interest in taking a special field trip to Winter Park during the school day. Recognizing how much these students contribute to the farm’s daily operations, Kate made an extraordinary gesture on her scheduled day off, she came in to ensure they had a memorable experience. Kate’s dedication reflects the essence of the Dare to Care Award. She leads with compassion, puts students first, and continuously fosters an environment where learning and engagement thrive. Her willingness to go the extra mile, even on her own time, speaks volumes about her character and commitment to the farm community."
