Integrating Science, Social Studies, and Career Exploration in K-5 Classrooms!

Their session highlighted the use of Multiple Literacies Project-Based Learning (ML-PBL) units—developed by Create for STEM (a collaboration between MSU and UofM)—to incorporate place-based learning strategies that connect science and social studies. By creating a coherent storyline, students explore various careers while addressing real-world problems.

The goal is to inspire educators to find meaningful connections between science, social studies, and local environments to enhance student learning and engagement across disciplines.
