Welcome to Becky Geskey, Accounting and Grants Supervisor

We are excited to announce that Becky Geskey has joined the Bloomfield Hills School community as the new Accounting and Grants Supervisor. In this role, Geskey is part of the finance team, and conducts day-to-day financial operations. With a Masters in Business Administration in Finance from Walsh College, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from Oakland University, Geskey has years of school district experience through the finance team at Southfield Public Schools. Geskey’s most recent experience was supporting the county-wide financial system, including training, documentation, and analysis of the county consortium, involving multiple districts throughout Oakland County. In that role, Geskey shares, “I helped find ways for everyday users to streamline and utilize the software for their day to day processes. I thoroughly enjoyed my job and my time at Oakland Schools, but I felt that I was missing something. When I saw the posting for my current role, I felt like I had found that missing puzzle piece, and that is what brought me here. I'm actually the third generation working with schools in the business office. My grandma processed Payroll for Pine River Schools and my mom is currently the Payroll and Purchasing Manager for Farmington Public Schools, so I guess it's in my blood.”

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Geskey moved around and attended ten different schools while growing up. During one semester, Geskey lived in Florida working for Walt Disney World in their College Program in Tomorrow Land Merchandise. A “Covid-bride,” Geskey married husband Brian in 2020. They have a ten year old Boxer/Pit mix named Scrappy Doo, four chickens (called “McCluckins”), and a four-month old son named Remington (“Remi”) Stanley. Geskey enjoys being outside, doing yard work, and has completed ten Tough Mudders, traveling to different states to run in them. Geskey also has over 20 years of experience working with Pyrotechnics, and put on the 4th of July show at the Soo Locks for the last three years working with Wolverine Fireworks. Geskey shares, “I am so excited to be joining the BHS staff and family, and look forward to working hard to keep the level of awesomeness alive within this district throughout my tenure here.”
