Welcome to Carmella Lewis, BHS Accounting and Grants Supervisor! ​​​​​​​

Deanna Wheeler, BHS Director of Finance

On September 11, Deanna Wheeler joined the BHS team as the Director of Finance. In this role, Wheeler oversees the finance department, assisting with developing budgets and financial reporting, and overseeing the audit, cash management, and accounting analysis. Wheeler joins BHS from the Novi Community School District, working as their Director of Finance since January 2016.  Prior to that, Wheeler worked as the Accounting Supervisor at South Redford School District. With a BA from Michigan State University majoring in marketing, and an MBA from Walsh College with a specialization in accounting, Wheeler feels “fortunate with the warm welcome I have received and getting to work with the great staff here at BHS. I also look forward to learning more about how BHS operates and really making this role my own.”

Born and raised in Michigan, Wheeler’s family owns a cottage in Newaygo, MI where they “enjoy spending as many summer weekends as possible, boating and enjoying the lake. We also spend a great deal of time, especially in the winter months, traveling for hockey. I am married to my wonderful husband Eddie, and he has given me two bonus kids, Eddie (15) and Grace (12), and two biological kids, Abigail (4) and Everett (1). Having a house full of kids keeps us quite busy between hockey, dance, gymnastics, and t-ball, and certainly makes our house and lives fun and exciting!”

Carmella Lewis, Accounting and Grants Supervisor

Beginning in early September, Carmella Lewis joined the finance department as the accounting and grants supervisor. In this role, Lewis works collaboratively with the finance team members to conduct the day-to-day financial operations of Bloomfield Hills Schools, planning, assigning, coordinating, evaluating, and overseeing the work of the accounting staff. A Michigan native, Lewis enjoys sunset meditation, and is honored to join the Bloomfield Hills Schools family.
