Through careful planning and responsible stewardship of voter approved funds, Bloomfield Hills Schools is addressing essential infrastructure needs, enhancing safety and security systems, and strategically investing in technology that supports teaching and learning. Below is a plan for the 2026 year using money from the Sinking Fund 2025 to improve schools across our district.
Facilities Update
- Conant Elementary
- Parking lot reconfiguration to improve traffic flow and safety during arrival and dismissal
- Additional parking lot lights for security and safety
- Expansion and improvement of sidewalk network for enhanced pedestrian safety
- Replacement of the asphalt area on the playground
- Replacement of the preschool area exterior door to improve security and energy efficiency
- Conversion of STEAM lab bathroom into additional storage space to better support instructional needs

- Improvements to the sidewalk network to enhance accessibility and student safety
- Site and building drainage upgrades to mitigate water-related issues and protect the facility
- South Hills Middle School
- Chalmers lake stormwater improvements to enhance water management and environmental compliance
- Installation of artificial turf in the courtyard to improve usability and reduce maintenance
