Student Advisory Board

Superintendents Student Advisory Board
Superintendent Rick West launched the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board for the 2025-26 school year. The SSAB will provide leadership opportunities for high school students (grades 10-12), while also advising the Superintendent and district leadership in key areas concerning student experience.

Purpose & Mission

The SSAB serves as a bridge between students and administration, providing a platform for students to share their perspectives and contribute to shaping the future of Bloomfield Hills Schools. This advisory board empowers students to be active participants in district-wide conversations, ensuring that student experiences and ideas are reflected in decision-making.

Opportunities & Impact

Through monthly meetings, SSAB members will:
  • Engage with Superintendent Rick West and district leaders to discuss key issues affecting students.
  • Champion student needs and interests by sharing insights from their schools.
  • Collaborate on initiatives and projects that enhance the student experience and support district events.
  • Develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while working alongside peers.

The SSAB is a unique opportunity for students to have a voice in their education and contribute to district-wide conversations at Bloomfield Hills Schools. By fostering open communication and collaboration, SSAB members play a vital role in shaping a district that is responsive to student needs and aspirations.
