MYP COORDINATOR'S CORNER by Kathy Janelle

Please read this week's MYP Newsletter from BHMS MYP Coordinator / Teacher Leader, Kathy Janelle. It contains a wonderful article by BHMS 7th grade student, Diya Ramesh, about the the joys of giving as part of the Holiday Wish Program. What an important lesson our students learned about the importance of helping others, and the positive effect it has on those who participate in the act of giving.

NEW SPELLING BEE CHAMPION AT BHMS

On Friday, December 15, winners from spelling bees previously held in each BHMS Language Arts class, competed in the school-wide Spelling Bee. Through a plethora of words such as truculently, ichthyosaurus, xylorimba and pestiferous, 7th grader Ella Tupper emerged as this year's BHMS Champion. Placing second in the competition was 8th grader Oorvi Duvvuri. Congratulations to all of the students who made it to the finals, and especially to Ella, who moved up from her 2nd place spot in last year's school-wide Spelling Bee.
