Parents' Night Out "Thank You" and Fundraising Report

Dear BHMS Families:

On behalf of the BHMS administration, staff and students, I extend a huge THANK YOU to our PTO for putting together the BHMS Parents' Night Out and fundraising auction on Saturday, January 27. The event, held at the HUB Stadium in Auburn Hills, was a great success. Attendance exceeded 100 adults and included BHMS staff, parents and guardians. The appetizers were delicious, the activities fun, the conversation enjoyable, and the auction was amazing and a great success.

Specifically, I'd like to thank Soni Doshi and her team, including Hannan Alsahlani, Kathy Galaurdi, Erika Solomon, Jen Harst, Natalie Shirley, Patsy Bugajewski, Renu Zaretsky and Julia Schenke. They spent countless hours on the event, from inception through clean up. They solicited incredible donations and prepared them for auction, designed invitations, selected the menu and handled publicity - and that was before the event even happened! They are an amazing group of people that we are proud to have as part of our school community.

Thank you also to our amazing BHMS staff, many of whom donated auction items in the form of their time with students, including working on special projects, movie and bowling outings, lunches and other fun experiences.

Please take a moment to read the note below from the PTO. It provides a summary of funds raised through Parents' Night Out, as well as the items those funds will allow the PTO to contribute to the school.

A note from the BHMS PTO . . .

Exciting News BHMS Families!

Our first ever Parents' Night Out was an amazing success. We brought in over $23,000! After expenses, we netted just over $20,000 for PTO!!

This allows the PTO to:

Pay for bus transportation for a field trip for every grade
Provide a stipend to teachers for school supplies
Purchase 8th grade recognition gifts
Continue to support school clubs
Make upgrades to the student clinic
And much, much more!

Thank you to all who came out to play. Thank you to those who couldn't make it, but donated anyway. And a special thank you to all our BHMS teachers and staff that donated their time and fabulous experiences to the auction. You create the outstanding school we have today.
