IMPORTANT SUMMER INFORMATION AND DATES FOR BLOOMFIELD HILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILIES
Summer Office Hours: The office is closed until August 1. Starting August 1, office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The office will be closed until 12:30 p.m. on August 27 for a district-wide staff meeting.
Parent Portal Access: Parents/guardians can access their Parent Portal by clicking HERE. There is a password reminder function for those who need it. If you have difficulties accessing the Parent Portal or obtaining/resetting your password, please contact Student Services at 248-341-6390.
Counselors
Counselors will be available by appointment beginning August 20. Counselor assignments for the 2018-19 school year are:

Math Acceleration Placement Exam: Tuesday, August 21, at 9 a.m. If you would like your student to participate in this exam, please e-mail your request to your student’s counselor no later than August 16.
5th Grade Student (only) Orientation: Monday, August 27, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. This is a fun and informative day for the students. Families of incoming 5th graders will receive more information prior to the event.
On-Site Registration Confirmation & Teacher Assignments: Tuesday, August 28, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Families for whom online registration is confirmed may obtain their student’s teacher assignment that day. Also, for families who do not have access to a computer, there will be a limited number of laptops available for your use in completing online registration. Please watch for updates from the District about when you can access online registration.
Supply Lists: Supply lists for grades 5 through 8 will be posted on the BHMS website by the first week of August.
First Day of School: Tuesday, September 4. This will be a ½ day of school for 5th graders, who will be dismissed at 11:35 a.m. Students in grades 6, 7 & 8 will have a full day of school with dismissal at 3:05 p.m. Buses will run at both dismissal times.
Student Schedules: Students will receive their class schedules on the first day of school.
Parent (Only) Curriculum Nights:
5th Grade: Wednesday, September 5, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
6/7/8 Grades: Thursday, September 6, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
No School: Monday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 19.
